Reading TIFF Orientation Tags Client-Side
Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) headers appended to JPEG binaries routinely encode a Tag Image File Format (TIFF) orientation property (Tag ID 0x0112). This parameter determines the intended visual rotation of the matrix data. Parsing this matrix prior to network transmission reduces necessary bandwidth and guarantees strict operational security over telemetry vectors.
This localized implementation utilizes a FileReader instantiation to parse incoming file blobs as an ArrayBuffer. By instantiating a DataView wrapper, the script navigates the byte stream to isolate the specific EXIF magic bytes (Exif\0\0). It subsequently determines the endianness (either Little Endian 0x4949 or Big Endian) to properly decode the ensuing Image File Directory (IFD) offsets [1].
Once the orientation tag is intercepted, it is mapped to its human-readable equivalent constraint (e.g., Rotated 90° CW). The entire execution occurs instantaneously without allocating excessive heap memory or generating external telemetry [2].
